Salvaged Wood Slabs, Custom Furniture & Mobile Milling & Flattening Services- Sourced & Handmade in Seattle
Salvaged Wood. Custom Craftsmanship. Seattle-Based Milling & Furniture.
At Grinstead Millworks I provide an end to end service from salvaging, milling, assembly, and finishing one project at a time. I love working with material from my personal library of salvaged Pacific Northwest hardwood, lumber I mill myself, but also work with material provided by my clients. Whether it’s a custom dining table from your own tree or a slab from my inventory, I bring hands-on care and craftsmanship to every piece.
From dimensional boards to live-edge furniture to raw slab sales, I offer custom work rooted in sustainability and built to last.
LETS CREATE
If you’re interested in a custom project, fill out this form first and i will get back to you.
Custom Milling Services
If you’ve got logs, I can help you turn them into something usable:
Bandsaw milling with a 28” TimberKing 1400 for dimensional lumber or live-edge slabs
Portable Alaskan chainsaw milling for larger or hard-to-reach logs
Slab flattening and prep for custom builders and woodworkers
Whether you're a homeowner with a tree you want to preserve or a builder with raw materials, I offer straightforward, professional service tailored to your project.
PNW SOURCED WOOD SLABS
I keep a regularly updated inventory of slab wood—personally milled from salvaged logs across the Pacific Northwest. Most of what I have on hand includes species like walnut, maple, elm, cherry, and fir. All slabs are air-dried and cut with care.
If you're looking for something I don't currently have in stock, I may be able to source it or suggest a good alternative. I’m also happy to work with wood you provide or help you select from store-bought options when needed.
To purchase raw slabs, please contact me directly for current availability and pricing.
If you're interested in a custom furniture piece, take a look at the general wood types listed here. When filling out your Estimate Form, include the species you’re most drawn to—or a general idea of the look you’re going for—and I’ll guide you from there.
